Long live the Theatre

Finally I can post some picture of the one-act-play evening that I organised and that took place two weeks ago. Once more, pictures can say more than words, so enjoy the show.



This is a group of actors playing the "Mad Tea Party" from Alice in Wonderland. They were dressed very funny and here you can see them waiting for their big moment.



This is the stage where the plays were performed, quite small, but the room was very nice and cosy.



This is where the audience is sitting. It was full the first evening, but the second evening, it was crowded and many people were standing or sitting on the floor.



The guy on the right is Fabian, one of best comedians we had, the guy on the left is Tom, who was in Aberdeen the semester before me. Tom and me were doing a play together; he was a Scottish taxi driver with a really Scottish accent and I was a priest. It was one of the most successful plays of the evening.



This is Simon, one of our tutors and my biggest help in organising the event. He was directing one play and was supposed to play in another. But then, he badly injured his hand in an accident, as you can see, and he had to cancel the play.



This is Franz, the author of the play Tom and I were playing in. He's also teaching English, apart from being a great musician.



This is Natalie, the director of the above named play, in which Tom and I are the taxi driver and the priest.



This is Andrea, who is playing a cursing, spitting and smoking fairy who is dying of lung cancer.



This is Fabian again, preparing for his great comical appearance in a play called "A talk in the Park". He is playing an elderly man whose family has left him. Sounds sad, but it was really funny.



This is Phil, putting on make-up for his part in the Monty Python sketch "The Dead Parrot".



This is the only picture we have of one of the plays. The play is by Samuel Beckett and is called "Come and Go".



This is Dewi, who used to be a teacher at the University and is now retired. He shows up at all English department evens though, especially if there is Whiskey.
